Fire over barn: farmers brought water to extinguish the fire

A neighbor noticed the flames: On Wednesday evening, a fire broke out in a disused farm in Neukirchen an der Enknach. Farmers from the surrounding area helped and delivered extinguishing water using seven tractors with slurry barrels.

The fire broke out on the second floor, in a wooden barn built on top of a stable, in which wood chips, wheels from agricultural equipment, straw and bales of straw were stored. There were no people in the building, which is currently shut down.

After a neighbor noticed the fire at around 6.40 pm on Wednesday, he alerted the emergency services. Nine fire departments were able to prevent the flames from spreading further.

Major damage to property
They received support from local farmers: they delivered extinguishing water to the scene of the fire with seven tractors and with the help of slurry barrels.

According to the police, part of the roof and the side wall of the building and the items stored inside were nevertheless destroyed by the flames. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
