Après-ski after rescue
2 missions in just a few hours because of a vacationer (60)
The Sölden mountain rescue team in the Tyrolean Ötztal had to be called out twice on Sunday because of a holidaymaker (60) from the Netherlands. First, he and a companion got into rough terrain during a hike. In the evening, he then suddenly disappeared during après-ski. The emergency services searched for several hours. In vain, as it turned out.
Together with a 56-year-old Dutch woman, the 60-year-old set off on a hike to the Leiterbergalm at around midday on Sunday. "At an altitude of around 1,680 meters, a tree blocked the hiking trail, whereupon we decided to bypass the area," said the police. In doing so, the mountaineers entered steep and pathless terrain. "Both slipped on the wet ground and made an emergency call."
Seven men from Sölden Mountain Rescue were deployed and accompanied the holidaymakers down into the valley unharmed.
On their return to the accommodation, the drunken members of the group noticed that the man was missing.

Suddenly disappeared during après-ski
Apparently, the 60-year-old quickly digested the shock. That evening, a family of seven went to an après-ski bar in Sölden. Suddenly, the Dutchman disappeared without a trace. "On returning to the accommodation, the drunken members of the group noticed that the man was missing."
They immediately raised the alarm and reported him missing. Once again, Sölden Mountain Rescue was deployed together with the Sölden fire department, Landeck fire department including drone, dog handlers and the police. The search operation was unsuccessful and was called off at 5.30 am. "At around 7.30 am, the 60-year-old returned to his accommodation unharmed."
