Glawischnig vs Mölzer
“War rhetoric like before the First World War”
Austria's domestic politics are boiling over! The KPÖ mayor of Graz, Elke Kahr, is causing a stir, while the war capability of the Austrian army is being hotly debated. Reason enough for "Das Duell", Gerhard Koller's political show, to invite prominent opponents to exciting duels.
Tonight, Elke Kahr, the mayor of Graz, is the target. She recently received the "World Mayor Prize" from London for her "selfless commitment to her city and its inhabitants". But not everyone is enthusiastic about Kahr's policies. Andreas Mölzer accuses the KPÖ of having a "dark side" that should not be ignored.
They also discuss the Austrian Armed Forces. Andreas Mölzer: "There's only talk of war everywhere, it's like the time before the First World War and can take on an extreme momentum of its own. I am a friend of military national defense. So away from war, away from war rhetoric." Mölzer underlines the importance of a strong national defense. On the subject of payment cards for refugees, Eva Glawischnig warns of rising costs and corruption: "The costs will rise. And there will again be a lot of business for a few friends. This will also make the payment card dangerously susceptible to corruption."
