Surprising end to marriage for world champion and model

This comes as a surprise! Argentina's world champion Enzo Fernandez has separated from his wife Valentina Cervantes. The two have been together since they were teenagers and have two children.

"Enzo and I have separated," announced Cervantes in her Instagram story. However, they still want to be a family and always support each other, the 24-year-old clarifies. "There are two children in our midst who need a lot of our love. I know what an excellent person and father Enzo is and what a heart he has. And that is enough for me. We don't want to start wars where there are none." Daughter Olivia was born in 2020, son Benjamin three years later.

"He told her he wanted his own life"
The sad end to the liaison - which apparently came as a surprise to the model. "I spoke to Valentina today. Ten days ago, Enzo told her that he wanted to split up. It was like a bolt from the blue for her. She says there was no crisis," says journalist Juli Argenta on the Argentinian TV channel "LAM". "He told her that he wanted to have his own life. They are still a family, but he feels the need to relive the phase he skipped when he decided early on to have a family."

Two years ago, Fernandez crowned himself world champion with Argentina in Qatar. A short time later, the then Benfica-Lisbon player moved to Chelsea FC for a mega transfer fee of 121 (!) million euros. However, he was unable to live up to the high expectations there.
