Argument with ex over food escalated – sentenced!

Because a 58-year-old man had prepared too little food, a violent argument broke out at the beginning of April in the district of Melk (Lower Austria). The German and his former partner now had to answer for this in court. 

He simply didn't want to share his food that day. "There just wasn't enough for both of them," the man tries to justify himself. Then he should have just cooked more, countered the "ex" and helped himself from the sizzling pan, completely unimpressed. The woman had to pay dearly for her stubborn hunger.

After verbal abuse and death threats, the woman was punched in the head. In return, she pulled out her nails and scratched the man's neck.

The heated argument on April 9th in the district of Melk has now come to an end at St. Pölten Provincial Court. Both had to answer for mutual assault, the 59-year-old German also for violating the Weapons Act - he was in possession of a prohibited weapon.

"He's the nicest person when he's not drinking," said the 60-year-old. But not when he was three per mille drunk. The 59-year-old received a three-month conditional prison sentence, the woman was acquitted - self-defense. The verdict is not legally binding.
