Family has to pay 5400 euros in operating costs

It was a real shock for a family with three children from Grieskirchen: For their 90 square meter apartment, they had to pay 5400 euros for operating and heating costs. The tenants' association is examining the case and advises a measure to prevent such horror bills.

Everything had actually started well for the family from Grieskirchen. In October 2022, they had moved into an affordable 90 square meter apartment, but 14 months later they were in for a nasty surprise: the landlord demanded that the family pay back 5,400 euros for operating costs (including gas) from 2023. The family did not want to accept this so easily and contacted the tenants' association.
