Alge at the top
State election: 3 small parties join forces
The three small parties "Xi", "Heimat aller Kulturen" (HaK) and "Gilt" officially joined forces on Friday to form the electoral alliance "Xi-HaK-Gilt" for the Vorarlberg state elections in the fall. Top candidate Chris Alge ("Xi") expects that other lists will join.
Xi" stands for Vorarlberg, HaK for diverse cultures, and "Gilt" has democracy in its DNA, Chris Alge summarized the electoral alliance. Running in the regional elections was necessary "due to the political situation, the horror show that is currently taking place", said Alge. The aim is to appeal to non-voters in particular.
All failed in 2019
The groups had already tried their luck in the state elections five years ago, albeit separately at the time. In 2019, "HaK" achieved 1.9% of the vote and "Xi" 1.5% - five percent is required to enter the state parliament.
Murat Durdu (HaK) appears as number two on the electoral alliance list, with Thomas Doppelhofer ("Gilt") in third place. Like Alge, Durdu and Doppelhofer ran as top candidates for their groups in 2019.
Alge sets high targets
Chris Alge firmly expects to enter the state parliament this time. "We are happy about every vote. If we achieve club status (three seats, note), that would be great. If everything goes perfectly, we will become the third strongest force," he said with conviction. The electoral alliance should become a "lighthouse project" that shines throughout Austria.
