Ukraine emergency aid workers fear wave of refugees
The attacks in Ukraine are never-ending. Emergency aid coordinators fear a wave of refugees in the summer and report of a possible "lost generation".
"It is assumed that there will be a wave of refugees if the bombing continues," says Wolfgang Wedan, emergency aid coordinator for the aid organization "Jugend Eine Welt". In neighboring Moldova, preparations are being made for June or July. The size of the refugee influx will "certainly be in the five-digit range".
Rockets too fast to reach shelters

In multi-storey buildings in particular, it is hardly possible to reach shelters in time in the event of attacks. The missiles launched from the annexed Crimean peninsula would need just 120 seconds to reach the city of millions.

People are very afraid of the Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump winning the election in November. After all, they are convinced that they will be lost without the West and that the whole of Ukraine will then become Russian.
Many children traumatized
Psychosocial support for children is also particularly important. Many are traumatized and if they are not treated, a lost generation could grow up. They wanted to continue to help if there were sufficient funds; they are heavily reliant on small donors who literally save their donations from their mouths in difficult economic times.
