Ski racer Michelle Gisin caused a stir with a remarkable move in the second slalom run at the Swiss Championships. While in the lead, she braked shortly before the finish line in order to secure important FIS points for her younger colleagues. 

Gisin went into the second slalom run at the Swiss Championships in Lenzerheide in the lead. Shortly before the finish, the 30-year-old actually had a decent lead and could easily have been crowned the winner. But it didn't come to that.

Gisin still lacks the title
Shortly before the finish, the two-time podium skier from the previous World Cup season suddenly slowed down. This allowed her colleague Nicole Good to celebrate victory. In addition, two other younger skiers, Aline Höpli and Lorina Zelger, finished on the podium and scored important FIS points.

This also explains Gisin's behavior. Her deliberate braking enabled her young colleagues to score significantly more points for the world rankings. Also noteworthy: the Swiss championship title is actually still missing from the collection of titles of the 30-year-old, who has already become world champion and Olympic champion.
