There's trouble because moms and dads in Marchtrenk (Upper Austria) are excluded from the lantern parade. The kindergarten justifies the decision by saying that the children wanted it that way. Parents therefore organize an "additional event".
Tempers run high at kindergarten two in Marchtrenk. Are democratic values being practiced here or are Christian traditions being pushed out? "My son got a note saying that this year St. Martin's Day should take place at seven o'clock in the morning instead of the usual five o'clock in the afternoon. It's probably about not discriminating against people of other faiths," a concerned father tells the "Krone" newspaper. But what is behind this?
