Suicide is a taboo subject in our society. Statistics can shed light on the situation. However, it is more important to show people suffering from depression that they are not on their own. 

Unfortunately, Carinthia is one of the top countries in Austria when it comes to suicides. Although the figures have been falling since the 1980s, more people still die this way than in road traffic accidents. "We can't take this issue seriously enough," emphasizes Carinthia's Health Minister Beate Prettner: "The long-term average is still around 110 cases. That's 110 suicides too many."
