Women abused
“Saubartl” received a much higher sentence at the high court
It was his 63rd birthday, but the court in Upper Austria was not in a celebratory mood. The "Saubartl" was not at all satisfied with his original sentence of ten months. However, the Higher Regional Court has now increased the sentence to three years in prison.
A man from the Traunviertel had secretly filmed women in the toilet 16 times - in four cases even in public toilets, where the former liberal local politician with a severe alcohol problem had installed cameras. However, the electrician had made most of the recordings at "corona parties" in his own home, where he had also converted the quiet little room into a perverse film studio without the knowledge of his female visitors.
Mitigating circumstances did not convince the Senate
But that was not all: the notorious "Saubartl" had also abused two women a total of three times. In the first instance in Steyr, he received a 30-month sentence for this, ten of which were harsh. This sentence was too harsh for him, but too lenient for the public prosecutor. Both appealed against it. The trial took place on Tuesday at the Linz Higher Regional Court.
Although the defense lawyer pointed out reasons for mitigation, the senate - two of whom were women - decided on three years' unconditional imprisonment for general preventive reasons."
