Robbery in a casino: Guest overpowers knife man

Courageous but dangerous civil courage in a casino in Klagenfurt: a guest rushes to the employee's aid and fights the armed robber.

It is shortly before 10.30 p.m. when a man wearing a woolly hat and FFP2 mask enters the casino in Klagenfurt. With a knife in his hand, he walks calmly and without a word towards the counter, threatens the employee with the stabbing weapon and demands cash. The victim instinctively grabs a dustbin, protects himself with it and has the presence of mind to shout loudly "Help, robbery".

In the hope that the guests present will be alerted and the criminal will abandon his plan. And indeed, a man from Klagenfurt reacts without thinking and bravely rushes to the employee's aid. The 57-year-old confronted the masked criminal, overpowered him, snatched the knife from his hand and pinned the suspect to the floor.

Witness restrained perpetrator
Until the arrival of the police officers, who were alerted and arrived shortly afterwards, who finally took the suspected robber away in handcuffs. The 63-year-old Armenian was taken to the police detention center in Klagenfurt. Investigations and questioning are still ongoing.
