Spring in Austria not only brings sunshine, but also a unique celebration of beer culture: the Independence Day of Austria's private breweries. From 19 to 21 April, we honor the passion and craft of the domestic art of brewing. With the "Krone" you now have the chance to win 10x20 personalized 0.33l bottles of beer from the traditional Stiegl brewery!

Since its foundation three years ago, the group of independent private breweries in Austria has developed into a major player in the domestic beer landscape. With the aim of promoting the diversity and quality of independently brewed beers, they are celebrating the Independence Day of Austria's private breweries from April 19 to 21. This day is all about 100% independent, non-corporate and Austrian beer.

100% corporate-free - 100% Austria

The "Independent Private Breweries of Austria" association was founded in February 2021 with the aim of recognizing independent Austrian private breweries. All members share the common interest of visibly distinguishing themselves from large international corporations as independent Austrian private breweries. They pay 100 percent tax in Austria and thus promote value creation in Austria.

The association currently consists of 46 private breweries from all over Austria, including breweries such as Privatbrauerei Hirt, Hubertus Bräu, Ottakringer Brauerei, Trumer Privatbrauerei and many more. You can find more information about the independent private breweries HERE.

Events throughout Austria
Independence Day offers the perfect opportunity to discover Austria's rich beer diversity and learn more about the art of brewing. Brewery tours, beer tastings and many other exciting activities await you in the 46 member breweries, from Vorarlberg to Burgenland.
