Supposed beggar was a thief
A pensioner had wanted to help, but was robbed. Thieves in the Gailtal valley made a curious haul: they are now the illegitimate owners of road signs.
A stranger posed as a beggar to a 76-year-old woman from Grafenstein on Wednesday. In an unobserved moment, she stole hundreds of euros in cash from the pensioner's house. Witnesses saw the woman, aged around 40, with long black hair and bad teeth, walking along the Thoner Landesstraße (L 102) afterwards. According to the victim, the criminal had identified herself with Czech documents. Information is requested from the Grafenstein police: 059 133 2106.
A Viennese man (39) was traveling on a train from Salzburg to Villach on Wednesday when he was robbed by previously unknown perpetrators: Cash amounting to hundreds of euros has been missing from his wallet since the train journey.
On Wednesday night, unknown persons broke into a sports store in Villach. They stole six high-priced gravel bikes, which are racing bikes and off-road bikes in one, worth tens of thousands of euros.
From the premises of the Josefimarkt in Nötsch, unknown persons stole three traffic signs indicating a driving ban, two aluminum scissor grilles and a folding parking bollard. The material damage amounts to hundreds of euros.
