Fending off the biggest nonsense from Vienna

Karoline Edtstadler already knew why she fled Vienna and Karl Nehammer to Salzburg. In any case, only optimists like Professor Felix Feelgood (an alias given to the Federal President by those frustrated by the childish maneuvers in the Hofburg) believed that the alliance between the ÖVP, SPÖ and Neos could be the best of three worlds.

After the hullabaloo in Vienna, Salzburg should at any rate keep its distance from the toxic federal level. The Austrianization of the republic by Karl Nehammer, who was sent from St. Pölten, together with Gerhard Karner and Klaudia Tanner and the SPÖ chairman Andreas Babler, who grew up in Traiskirchen, together with his party friend Sven Hergovich in tow, simply cannot do the country any good.

It already isn't, as can be seen from the completely botched coalition negotiations.

With Karoline Edtstadler as Salzburg's governor, a person could move into the Chiemseehof who is determined and self-confident enough to fend off the biggest nonsense from Vienna.

But one thing is also clear: Salzburg cannot completely isolate itself from Vienna's political dilettantism. The consequences at an economic level will be felt by everyone.

Governor Wilfried Haslauer could make this very clear to his ÖVP friends in Vienna and St. Pölten. That would be a strong departure.
