Wolfsberg municipal utility’s own funds grow

Stadtwerke Wolfsberg - which is wholly owned by the town - presented its 2023 balance sheet and major construction projects to the town council. 

"We were able to continue our stable course and thus create further foundations for high investments," says Stadtwerke Managing Director Christian Schimik. In the previous year, sales revenue of over 15.2 million euros was generated. "We are particularly proud that we now have an ownership share of almost 51%," says Schimik. The surplus is 122,000 euros. Around 4.2 million euros were spent in 2023.

Among the major construction projects: the drinking water pipeline to the Koralpe along 3.4 kilometers, the drinking water filter plant for the Klippitz spring area, the completion of the waste collection center, the natural cemetery in St. Stefan, as well as numerous construction works for water and sewer such as Auenstraße, Sporergasse, Spatzenweg and Finkenweg. "The result confirms the healthy development and the great commitment of our employees."
