St. Leonhard visits “his” pilgrimage church

Earthly remains of the patron saint of St. Leonhard's Church will be brought from France to Lavanttal in Carinthia in 2025. Bones of the saint will be on display there for two months. 

"It is traditional for a small part of the earthly remains of saints to be incorporated into the altar," explains Dean Martin Edlinger. One such relic of St. Leonhard, who lived in France until 6.11.559, has been integrated into the new 1.5-ton sandstone altar that has been erected in the newly renovated church in Bad St. Leonhard.
