Impressive: Eight goals in eleven competitive matches

Eileen Campbell's goal to give the ÖFB-Girls an interim 2-0 lead in their 3-1 win over Poland in Altach was her eighth competitive goal in eleven appearances for the national team. An impressive quota that the 23-year-old from Feldkirch has been able to achieve in recent months.

"That's what I have to do as a striker," explains Campbell, who only made her senior team debut in November 2022 in the test against Slovakia (3:0) and has since replaced record goalscorer Nicole Billa in the starting eleven.

"Football is a fast-moving business. That's why it's important for me to keep the level high and do my job." Eileen will have her next chance to do so on Tuesday (19), when coach Irene Fuhrmann's team will be looking to upset Germany in their final group game in Hanover.

Campbell will then return to SC Freiburg. Despite a difficult spring, she has no regrets about the move there. "When you're successful, it's always easy," says Eileen, who would give herself a school grade of "B minus" for her first half season in the German Bundesliga and promises: "I'll certainly keep working hard on myself."
