Two-year-old falls from second floor in Vienna

A big scare in a house in Vienna-Favoriten: A two-year-old boy fell from the second floor in Neilreichgasse on Tuesday morning. The child was found lying on the floor by a passer-by. The mother was reported to the police. 

An attentive passer-by immediately alerted the police when he discovered the two-year-old crying and injured on the sidewalk. The Vienna police officers were quickly able to find out from which apartment in the apartment building the boy had fallen and landed in the bushes. 

Mother was not at home
"As it turned out, the two-year-old's mother was not in the apartment because she was taking another child to school," police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger said on Wednesday. However, the underage daughter and another relative were in the apartment.  

The Vienna Emergency Medical Services provided emergency medical care and took the child to hospital. The 32-year-old mother was reported to the police on suspicion of neglecting a minor and the child and youth welfare services were informed about the incident.
