Jose Mourinho becomes coach at Fenerbahce

José Mourinho is taking over the traditional Istanbul club Fenerbahce. The soccer coach made the announcement on Saturday evening in an eight-second video on the club's official channel on X

"Let's start our journey together," said the 61-year-old, who will be presented at Fenerbahce's stadium on Sunday evening.

Successor to Kartal
The Turkish runners-up did not initially provide any further details, such as the duration of the contract. As the news agency DHA reported on Friday, the star coach is to receive a contract for two years. Mourinho most recently coached AS Roma and succeeds Ismail Kartal in Istanbul.
