A dozen fire departments involved in house fire

A house in Scharten caught fire late on Sunday evening. A total of 12 fire departments were deployed, some until the early hours of Monday morning. The elderly resident of the house had already been brought to safety by a neighbor. He was taken to hospital to be checked for smoke inhalation.

Shortly after nine o'clock in the evening, the Finklham and Scharten fire departments were alerted to a kitchen fire. When the first vehicles arrived, the building was already fully engulfed in flames. Reinforcements were quickly called in and an increased alert level two was declared.

Quickly under control
The twelve fire departments alerted finally managed to bring the fire under control quickly. The occupant of the house was lucky: he was brought to safety by a neighbor before the emergency services arrived. However, he was taken to hospital for a check-up due to suspected smoke inhalation. A second person was also treated on site by the emergency services.
