52-year-old attacked construction worker with a knife

On Monday afternoon, a 52-year-old man in Vienna-Floridsdorf went completely berserk after the noise in a neighboring apartment became too much for him. Construction workers had been carrying out renovation work in the apartment in question at the time. This was followed by a knife attack and a subsequent police operation.

The construction workers had probably not expected to be attacked with a knife by a resident after he had kicked the front door several times. According to the police, when one of the construction workers finally opened the door, the suspect stood in front of it shouting with a kitchen knife and stabbed the closed door several times. No one was injured in the incident.

2.74 per mille
When the emergency services arrived, the rioter was provisionally arrested. The murder weapon was recovered from the arrested man's home. A breathalyzer test was also carried out, which showed a blood alcohol level of 2.74 per mille.

Felt provoked
When questioned, the 52-year-old stated that he had felt provoked by the construction workers, was insulted and subsequently lost control of himself. The drunk neighbor was reported to the police.
