Part of drug ring
Four-year prison sentence for cannabis dealer (30)
As a middleman in a larger drug ring, the accused (30) is said to have traded up to 80 kilos of narcotics. He admitted this openly in Salzburg Provincial Court. Now he has to serve four years.
The accused, an Austrian (30) with a criminal record and roots in the Balkans, was part of a larger drug organization that was exposed in the course of the police operation "Operation Achilles": As the "Krone" reported, it was a gang that smuggled hundreds of kilograms of narcotics into the country from Slovenia. The head of the drug gang, a Bosnian (35), received a ten-year prison sentence in Linz in March.
Gang leader already convicted
The accused is said to have sold around 70 to 80 kilograms of cannabis and almost 150 grams of cocaine as a middleman in this gang - in the period between the beginning of 2019 and May 2023. Street value: more than half a million euros.
At the trial on Thursday in Salzburg Provincial Court, the xx-year-old made a comprehensive confession to the charges. As the alleged drug dealer admitted to the charges, a panel of lay judges quickly came up with a sentence: according to the indictment, the local man received four years' unconditional imprisonment. The sentence is already legally binding.
