Teenagers with toy gun: large-scale operation

On Saturday evening, a subway was stormed by the WEGA because two youths were in a subway with an alleged firearm.

The police were called to Alaudagasse in the 10th district at around 8.45 pm. Frightened passengers had raised the alarm because they had noticed two teenagers (both 14) in a subway train with what they thought was a firearm.

Deceptively real
The subway train was then stopped and numerous police officers from the Favoriten police station secured the area. The two youths were quickly stopped in a carriage by WEGA officers.

One of the two had a deceptively real-looking toy pistol with him. The gun was seized, the operation was ended and the subway resumed normal service after just under 30 minutes. The two young people were charged with disorderly conduct
