Urfahraner market
Celebrities as announcers or cotton candy sellers
Construction has already been in full swing for a few days to ensure that everything is ready on time, as Upper Austria's favorite folk festival, the Urfahran Spring Market, opens its doors again on 27 April - this year, a lot is new in terms of the program, especially on Monday.
With the traditional salute from the Prangerschützen marksmen, the welcoming words from SP city boss Klaus Luger and VP market representative Doris Lang-Mayerhofer, followed by free rides on all the rides, the Urfahr Spring Market will once again open in its tried and tested form on April 27. The only new thing on Saturday: In the media tent, you can mint your own Urfahranermarkt commemorative coin - while stocks last - at a coin minting station.
The charity focus on Monday will be more heavily modified: While there have already been charity concerts by the Lions in the last two years, the aim this time is to broaden the theme.
Working for a good cause from midday
"Under the motto 'One celebrity - one hour - one donation', well-known personalities from sport, music, culture and politics will be guests at various fairground stations every hour from midday until the concert at 7 pm. They will donate an hour of their time to visitors and, in cooperation with the exhibitors, will make announcements on the rides or sell ride chips and candy floss. Donations collected will be donated to the support association of the regional school center for hearing and vision education. The evening Lions charity concert ('Lisa & The Mellows' and 'The Economix') will support two-year-old Julian, who was born without eyeballs," says Doris Lang-Mayerhofer.
