In the sights of Mercedes
Hammer change? A little side blow from Alonso
In recent weeks, Formula 1 veteran Fernando Alonso has been heavily linked with Mercedes. At the Japanese Grand Prix, the Aston Martin driver finished ahead of the "Silver Arrows" and couldn't resist a little side-swipe at his rival.
It remains to be seen who will replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes next season. Could it be Fernando Alonso's hammer switch? "I had a lot of fun in the race and one of my best weekends ever in terms of driving," said Alonso in Suzuka, adding after the numerous speculations surrounding him: "Mercedes is further back, so it doesn't feel so attractive."
Decision by the summer
The 42-year-old former champion wants to decide on his Formula 1 future by the summer at the latest. His statement shows that the "Silver Arrows" are probably not high on the Spaniard's agenda at the moment.
Other Mercedes candidates include Italian talent Kimi Antonelli, Ferrari man Carlos Sainz from Spain and Dutch Red Bull superstar Max Verstappen.
