"Personal attacks"
Retreat! Forester has now had enough of political squabbles
The guardian of the Perchtoldsdorf forest surprisingly resigns due to "unqualified attacks" by the citizens' list. However, the accused mandatary defends herself against the accusations.
"Enough is enough!" That's probably what the forester of Perchtoldsdorf in the district of Mödling thought. He will resign from his post in June.
The background to this move, which came as a surprise to many, is said to have been "continuous unqualified and personal attacks" by Citizens' List candidate Gabriele Wladyka. She is even said to have encouraged citizens to express their displeasure directly to the forester on his private number. "Citizens are constantly complaining to me about the damage to the forest caused by the use of the harvester," Wladyka defends herself. However, she did not incite anyone, but simply named the person responsible.
"Losing a competent expert"
Environmental councillor Agnes Wühr (Greens) regrets that "we are losing a competent expert who has done a lot for nature conservation and sustainability". The measures criticized were merely the removal of dry pines and diseased ash trees, which were replaced by young trees typical of the location. "We were even informed about this in the committee and during a forest inspection - and yet the Citizens' List is spreading false information," says Wühr angrily.
