16-year-old sentenced
Double jaw fracture caused by punches: Prison sentence for 16-year-old
He already has four previous convictions, now comes the next one: a young criminal from Salzburg has already received another prison sentence. His brother was also sentenced.
He is only 16 years old and already knows life in Puch prison: a Russian with four previous convictions had to answer to the criminal court again. This time, he beat up an Afghan during a night out on February 10, who suffered a double fracture to his jaw: "He still has problems eating to this day as a result," says victim's lawyer Stefan Rieder. In addition, the accused's brother (21) is said to have threatened and coerced the victim afterwards: "If you go to the police, then . . .". While the young criminal admitted to the violence, the 21-year-old denied the accusation. In addition, three friends are likely to have tried in vain to exonerate the 16-year-old as witnesses - they now face penalties for making false statements.
The Russian brothers received guilty verdicts and unconditional prison sentences: the 16-year-old is to serve one year plus six more due to a suspended sentence. And the older brother received eight months in prison. The sentences are not final.
