Austrian fashion designer Marina Hoermanseder has made public on Instagram some of the shocking abuse she received after her appearance in the final episode of Heidi Klum's casting show "Germany's Next Topmodel".

In Thursday's show, Hoermanseder dressed the models for a catwalk in her extravagant fashion, which is celebrated by stars such as Lady Gaga.

She dressed Armin in one of her iconic Glücksbärchi outfits including a full-face hood, Frieder in an extremely skimpy leather apron and Lilli in a Queen of Hearts vase dress. She had a little banter with the twins Julian and Luka, but not really bad, because they had to giggle at her looks. All in all, the episode, which can be streamed on Jony, was very amusing thanks to her.

Worrying proportions:
And that is precisely why the hatred she is now receiving on social media is extremely shocking.

The extent of the hostility is absolutely incomprehensible and shows how quickly and unthinkingly hate can be spread online.

The designer has now made some of the abuse public on Instagram. You don't have to like her fashion, she writes to her haters. But it is urgently necessary for them to "stop spreading this hate on the internet."

"I don't care, but others suffer"
Hoermanseder points out: "I don't care about your so-called 'personal opinions', but other people might not be able to deal with this cyber hate as well because they don't have family, friends or a community to support them."

She had received "sooooo much positive feedback" on the "GNTM" episode and found herself "actually quite funny and authentic".

It's a shame that so many people have to make fun of her again. It's sad what people are capable of.

Marina Hoermanseder became famous with designs that were reminiscent of medical devices and orthopaedic corsets or leg braces, with lots of leather and metal and fetish elements such as latex, her trademark is the belt buckle.

She achieved international success with catwalk creations made of vegetable-tanned leather and fine fabrics, and "on the side" she created the fashionable corporate identity of major Austrian companies such as Austrian Airlines and Österreichische Post. In her home country, she recently presented her third collaboration with the lingerie manufacturer Palmers.
