After Champions League

Ouch! This joke by Jamie Carragher backfired - or is there more to it? One thing is certain: The former Liverpool star's accusation of cheating against presenter Kate Abdo live on TV is not only upsetting soccer in England.
It was after Arsenal's progression to the Champions League quarter-finals against Porto on Tuesday evening. As always, CBS's whimsical four-man panel analyzed the game. Hosted by Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards reviewed the game, including the penalty shoot-out.
An Arsenal jersey took center stage to celebrate the day. Carragher had brought it along for former City player Richards and wore it himself after him. The former Liverpool captain's idea was that Henry should also wear it and, in the end, Abdo too. But she immediately waved it off.
"No, I'm loyal!" said the presenter. "Loyal to whom?" Carragher asked. Abdo: "Manchester United, thank you very much!" "But not loyal to Malik?" Carragher said with a dirty laugh about the accusation of cheating! To explain: Abdo has officially been in a relationship with Malik Scott, the trainer of boxing star Deontay Wilder, for a few weeks and was accordingly shocked.
"Excuse me? Why would you say something like that?"
"Excuse me? Why would you say something like that? He wasn't even mentioned on the show," countered Abdo, completely baffled. Henry couldn't believe it either and asked: "Sorry?" Richards even looked theatrically to the floor before the embarrassing incident was ended with a picture. Incidentally, there has been no official explanation so far after the upset in the round of four.
