Attack in asylum center: victim’s life still in danger

A 24-year-old Libyan citizen is still fighting for his life after the knife attack on Monday at the East Asylum Care Center in Traiskirchen (Lower Austria).

According to police spokesman Raimund Schwaigerlehner, the victim is currently receiving intensive medical care. It is still unclear whether the 24-year-old will survive.

Stabbed several times
In the bloody knife attack on Monday evening, a Moroccan man (22) armed with a knife attacked the 24-year-old Libyan and stabbed him several times. An argument is said to have led to the incident. 

The accused did not confess
The public prosecutor's office ordered the accused Moroccan to be taken to Wiener Neustadt prison. He did not confess during initial questioning. The investigation is based on suspicion of attempted murder.
