Further suspected cases
Even more people infected with measles in Tyrol
After two more cases of measles were confirmed in the Tyrolean lowlands, the province is warning of further infections. Anyone who has been in certain places in Wörgl or Kufstein should pay particular attention to their state of health.
Two more people have contracted measles in Tyrol. According to information from the state, seven cases were confirmed in the districts of Kufstein and Schwaz on Monday. These are four adults and three children. There are also further "highly suspected cases" in Wörgl and Kufstein.
Those affected - unaware of their illness - were also out and about in public spaces. Specifically, infected persons were at an indoor football tournament in the Wörgl sports hall on 20 January and at the JuZ Kufstein youth center from 30 January to 1 February.
Checking vaccination status recommended
In people who are not immune, the first flu-like symptoms appear around 14 days after contact with an infected person. People who have been to the above-mentioned locations should check their vaccination status for two measles vaccinations, catch up on the vaccination if necessary and monitor their state of health. People who have been vaccinated twice and all those who have already had measles are considered immune.
