Major frustration at Bayern following their Champions League slip-up against Viking Stavanger! Above all, the unnecessary yellow-red card for superstar Michael Olise left everyone shaking their heads. “So stupid,” said coach Vincent Kompany, also criticizing his player.

“It’s our own fault,” Vincent Kompany said Tuesday evening on “Prime Video” after the surprising 3-3 draw at Viking Stavanger. The 40-year-old spoke of “total lapses in concentration” by his team. “We just weren’t smart—not against Augsburg, not today.” He said they had “shot themselves in the foot with that red card.”

Olise Loses His Cool
In the 74th minute, with Bayern leading 3-2, Michael Olise was shown a yellow card for a foul. Then the Frenchman let himself get provoked and threw the ball in the face of opponent Zlatko Tripic. The result: a yellow-red card—the game was over early for the Frenchman!

Here’s the incident on video:

Viking threw everything forward one last time and were rewarded with a late header by Herman Johan Haugen—the final score was 3–3. A setback for Bayern! Three days after the 2–2 draw at FC Augsburg, the Munich side once again missed out on victory in a wild match. After two matchdays of the Champions League group stage, the German record champions have four points in the standings.

Kane Was Also Upset
Harry Kane, who scored twice, was also annoyed by Olise’s actions. “I know Michael must be totally devastated right now,” the Englishman said of his close teammate. He added, “He’ll have to take responsibility for this now!”

Fine for Olise?
When asked if there would be an internal fine for Olise, sporting director Max Eberl remained tight-lipped. The 53-year-old said they would discuss it “calmly.”
