GAK serve garlic before the derby
Despite a series of absences (seven men were missing), the decimated GAK put in a decent performance in the 2-1 defeat against Austria - but coach Rene Poms remained divided in his analysis: He took his hat off for the good attitude, the great fight and some pleasing debuts: "But the bottom line is zero points - and soccer is a results sport!"
And the coach has his doubts that the personnel situation will change drastically in Sunday's derby against Sturm: "We'll see what happens, but some of the sick players (Wiegele, Italiano, Maderner, Jano, Jovicic) have been hit hard, we're talking about a fever of 39 degrees. Anyone who's had a fever that high knows that you won't be fit again tomorrow. I'd like it to last until the derby, but you have to assume that one or two of them won't be ready."
