“Stab wound”: Mikaela Shiffrin out for longer

Ski superstar Mikaela Shiffrin will have to take several weeks off due to her fall injuries. As the US-American announced on Monday, she will need "at least a few weeks" to be able to "withstand great forces" again.

Shiffrin suffered multiple bruises and a deep wound to her stomach in a crash in the Killington giant slalom on Saturday on the way to her 100th World Cup victory.

"Hope I can ski again soon"
"I literally have a stab wound and pretty severe muscle trauma throughout my right side," Shiffrin explained on social media.

A bitter setback for the ski superstar. "I hope I can ski again soon," said Shiffrin.
