Hinteregger’s grandma celebrates with the team from St. Peter!

The Mühlviertel team from St. Peter am Wimberger is celebrating the championship title in the 2nd Northwest and its 55th anniversary today. Ex-ÖFB team kicker Martin Hinteregger and his grandma Gusti are also on site.She has a very close relationship with "her boys"! 

You have to celebrate the festivities as they fall! 33 years after the last championship title, St. Peter am Wimberg once again took the crown in the 2nd Northwest. And on the club's 55th anniversary!

Reason enough to invite everyone to a big party today, to which none other than former Austrian football team player Martin Hinteregger has registered, who is traveling from Carinthia to the Mühlviertel with a fan bus and will also play a match with his club Sirnitz.

 "Three players went to Carinthia three years ago to honor Hinti," says Ortner and adds: "That's where we met the grandma, she immediately offered us a Gurktaler!" A close friendship quickly developed with the Hinteregger family.

Although Hinteregger is probably somewhat overshadowed in St. Peter, the players are much more likely to be looking forward to his grandma Gusti! "I write to her almost every month, she's really looking forward to visiting us," says St. Peter striker Kevin Ortner. How is it that the footballers have such a close relationship with Grandma Gusti?

Since then, they have traveled to the Hinti Cup in Carinthia every year. In 2022, they even took a helicopter tour together. "We always have breakfast with her, and she even made us Carinthian cheese noodles for lunch once," says Ortner, who smiles and reveals: "We gave her a champion shirt this year. She always says that we are her boys!" With whom she will celebrate the championship title today with at least one Gurktaler!
