Dustbin “swallows” pizza boxes

In the Lower Austrian town of Waidhofen an der Ybbs, the municipal building yard has now developed a very special garbage can - just for pizza boxes.

It's not just on vacation in Italy that huge quantities of pizzas are eaten, but also in this country. The so-called "pizza boom" is not only reflected in the sharp rise in search queries on online sales platforms - pizza ovens and pizza stones in particular are increasingly being searched for - but also in the townscape of Waidhofen an der Ybbs. There has recently been a waste bin especially for pizza boxes.

Creative building yard team 
It was developed and built by the hard-working team from the municipal building yard. The innovative bin serves an important purpose: the public garbage bins are unsuitable for the disposal of pizza boxes due to their opening dimensions. The new, square box of the pizza garbage can is designed precisely to fit the square format of the boxes. This means that boxes no longer pile up on top of the normal bins.

The prototype of the litter bin is now in place at Unterer Stadtplatz. Further examples are to follow at other locations in the coming months.
