Bergheim: Car burst into flames

An electrical fault in the engine caused a fire in Bergheim on Tuesday. The owner of the car tried to extinguish the fire himself - but to no avail. The fire department was called out and the flames had already spread to another car.  

The volunteer fire department was able to bring the fire under control. However, a third car was damaged as well as the wall of the apartment building and two garages there. The extent of the damage is still unclear. No one was injured.
