Charlene shines with a new hairstyle at the Rose Ball
It hasn't happened in Monaco since 2014: Princess Charlene attended the traditional "Bal de la Rose", the Rose Ball, on Saturday for the first time in so many years and celebrated a brilliant comeback with her look.
The Princess not only showed up with a new hairstyle that reminds us a little of the legendary haircut by Austro legend Chris Lohner, but also in a glittering trouser suit that is unusual for a ball. A tribute to the motto of the evening.
This year, the ball was designed by shoe designer Christian Louboutin on the theme of "Disco". The 80-year-old Gloria Gaynor set the mood with her hit "I will survive".
Burying the hatchet
Charlene's rare presence at the ball gave the evening a special touch.
The 46-year-old also shone alongside Albert (66) in the company of her sister-in-law, Princess Caroline of Hanover (67), despite rumors of tension between the high-society ladies. These speculations revolve around money and the question of power within the court.
But there was no sign of the supposed disagreement that evening. The hatchet seems to have been buried.
Their joint appearance was a clear sign of solidarity, especially at a time when the Monegasque royal family has been rocked by scandals. Alleged involvement in real estate scandals and shady dealings in the construction industry have recently tarnished the Grimaldis' reputation.
The Rose Ball raises money for the foundation of the future Princess Gracia Patricia of Monaco, who became known as Grace Kelly. Among other things, the organization awards scholarships to young musicians and dancers and supports children in need.
