5:0! Ried shoots itself out of crisis against Stripfing
SV Ried haven't forgotten how to win after all - the team from the Innviertel region got their first win of 2024 in the 18th round of the 2nd division! And with a 5:0 win against SV Stripfing, they did so very clearly.
Aside from this resounding victory, FAC remain the first runners-up to the superior league leaders GAK. The Viennese won 1:0 at home against the second team of Sturm Graz. Third-placed DSV Leoben are level on points with the Viennese side after a 1-0 win at bottom-of-the-table Amstetten.
Nermin Haljeta was the match-winner for the Floridsdorfer at the FAC pitch with his goal in the 78th minute. It was the fourth win in the last five rounds.

There was also only one highlight in the form of a goal to be seen in Amstetten. It was scored by veteran striker Deni Alar after exactly one hour and was the ex-Rapidler's 13th goal of the season in his 13th match. The 34-year-old also scored five times in the Cup. Leoben are unbeaten in 13 competitive games and celebrated their sixth win in a row. This was despite striker Cheikhou Dieng being shown the red card in the 44th minute after a rude tackle on Dominik Starkl.
After two defeats, the Rieder once again had reason to celebrate. Wilfried Eza with a brace (9th, 52nd), Fabian Wohlmuth (14th), Arjan Malic (47th) and David Bumberger (72nd) added their names to the scoresheet in the Innviertel. It was Stripfing's fourth defeat in a row, adding to their worries about their license for the coming season.
