Silo fire: technical defect as the cause

As reported, a fire broke out at the Binderholz company in Tyrol. The cause has now been determined. The possibility of third-party fault can therefore be ruled out.

Following a fire at the Binderholz company in Jenbach, Tyrol - as reported by the "Krone" - last Friday evening, in which two silos on the company premises caught fire, a technical fault has now been determined as the cause. The police announced on Monday that the fire was not caused by a third party. A dust explosion occurred in a silo filled with sawdust and the flames then spread to a second silo.

Elimination of all embers difficult
No one was injured. The fire was brought under control relatively quickly and there was no danger of a further explosion. However, the final removal of all embers was still difficult the following day. The fire triggered a large-scale fire department operation: 110 firefighters from Jenbach and surrounding communities battled the flames.
