The "Schutzschild 24" exercise is in full swing in Carinthia. And the army is practicing several scenarios at once. On Tuesday, the army forces went to Klagenfurt Airport and the hospital. The "Krone" was present at both locations.

"Radioactive material is to be smuggled into Austria by air transport. This could be used to build so-called 'dirty bombs' or to contaminate drinking water. The aircraft is detected in Carinthian airspace and the air force and the NBC defense force are alerted." This was the first scenario on Tuesday in Carinthia, where 1,200 soldiers (including militia members) have been deployed since last week to secure critical infrastructure.
