Tragedy in Lower Austria
61-year-old man shoots his own wife (60)
On Monday afternoon, a terrible tragedy occurred in a detached house in Ober-Grafendorf (Lower Austria). A 61-year-old man shot his wife and then himself.
The officers were alerted after the wife could not be reached. On arrival at around 2.30 p.m., the 61-year-old man and his 60-year-old wife were found dead. The officers were also able to recover a suicide note.
Investigation underway
According to the letter, the man shot his wife with a handgun at her request. The background to this is likely to have been a serious illness of one of the spouses. The Lower Austrian State Office of Criminal Investigation is investigating at full speed.
