Mystery of woman’s body at 3400 meters altitude solved

Tragic death on the mountain: The mystery surrounding the identity of the woman's body, which was discovered on Monday on the Zuckerhütl in the Stubai Alps in Tyrol at an altitude of around 3400 meters, has now been solved. The accident is believed to have occurred at the weekend.

At around 12 noon on Monday, an alpinist made an emergency call around 150 meters below the Zuckerhütl summit. He had discovered the body of a woman there. The dead woman was eventually rescued by the Libelle Tirol police helicopter and flown down into the valley. The identity was initially unclear - an autopsy was ordered.

The victim is a 27-year-old woman from Bavaria who lives and works in Salzburg.

The mystery has been solved and relatives have been informed of the tragedy. "The victim is a 27-year-old woman from Bavaria who lives and works in Salzburg," explains Alpine police officer Daniel Kölli in response to an inquiry from "Krone".

Already fell to her death on Sunday
The accident probably happened on Sunday. The young woman, who apparently wanted to bivouac on the Zuckerhütl, fell 130 meters to her death.
