VIP guests at Klangwolke: free from fear of heights

The VIP guests at the Brucknerhaus marveled at the interplay of music and artistry at the Klangwolke on Saturday evening in Linz's Donaupark. Many of them would have been suitable as extras, some of whom moved at lofty heights, as they revealed in an interview with the "Krone".

Physical fitness, experience in sport, dance, theater or circus - and above all: no fear of heights! These were the requirements used to search for extras for the Linz Klangwolke.

In the end, 130 volunteers came forward to join the artists' collective La Fura dels Baus on Saturday evening to become part of the cultural spectacle, sometimes at lofty heights.

"I would have been really interested in that," revealed René Esterbauer, the commercial director of LIVA. Would the VIP guests in the Brucknerhaus have been suitable? "I have no problem with the height. But I don't know if I could have managed the choreography," said Stefanie Christina Huber.

The General Director of Sparkasse Oberösterreich welcomed around 900 guests to the Klangwolke on Saturday together with her fellow board members Maximilian Pointner, Manuel Molnar and Martin Punzenberger. While director Carlus Padrissa "felt like a child at Christmas" with excitement, the culture fans enjoyed a relaxed summer evening.
