The Greens are now relying on “young experienced people”

Philipp Juranich from Unterpullendorf heads the list for the upcoming National Council elections. The Greens' goal: a mandate at state level, i.e. over 12 percent of the vote.

In the European elections, things did not go according to plan for the Burgenland Greens. With 6.6 percent and slight losses, they finished in fifth place behind the Neos. The Greens have now set themselves a "sporting goal" for the National Council elections on September 29. The goal is a mandate at state level, which means more than 12% of the vote.

Under 35 years old
This is to be achieved with a young team. "The first places on the state list are under 35 years old," reports state spokesperson Anja Haider-Wallner. The top candidate is 32-year-old Philip Juranich from Unterpullendorf.

He is followed by Samara Sánchez Pöll from Eisenstadt and Nikolas Brunäcker from Purbach. All three emphasize their political experience, as they are active as local councillors, in the provincial party or in the Green Youth.

For climate and against right-wing extremism
"In terms of content, our focus is on climate protection and the fight against right-wing extremism," says Juranich. They will campaign for a progressive, open-minded and sustainable Austria.
