Infected woman
Woman with measles was in the VIP club
The joy of SV Ried's clear 5:0 home win against Bregenz last Friday is currently being dampened for some visitors. The reason: as has now become known, a woman celebrating the success in the soccer club's VIP club was infected with measles. LH Thomas Stelzer (ÖVP) was also in the room.
This became known on Tuesday after the district administration informed the club. The sick visitor was still in the infectious phase at the time.
Avoid contact with other people
The incubation period after a possible measles contact would therefore only end on May 5, 2024. If symptoms such as high fever, dry cough, rhinitis, conjunctivitis and inflammation of the nasopharynx occur before then, you are urgently advised to contact your GP's surgery immediately by telephone and inform them of a possible measles contact. In this case, contact with other people should also be avoided.
Incidentally, one person who should keep a very close eye on himself is Governor Thomas Stelzer, who was also a guest at the club's VIP club on Friday and came into contact with many people there.
Measles case on the train and in the supermarket
However, people who were traveling by train in the Innviertel region on 9 April should also monitor their state of health. A person who was unknowingly infected with measles was traveling on REX 5942 from Ried im Innkreis to Linz (departure 5.52 am, arrival 6.52 am) and on the return journey on REX 5978 from Linz to Neumarkt/Kallham (3.34 pm to 4.16 pm) and on REX 5978 to Ried im Innkreis (4.20 pm to 4.36 pm). And on April 10 and 11, there was also a person in the Spar branch in Traun (Leondinger Straße 50) who was unknowingly infected and had fallen ill with measles in the meantime.
