A drug dealer in Vienna wanted for dealing crystal meth is also said to have repeatedly abused his 24-year-old girlfriend, including breaking two of her fingers. According to police spokesman Markus Dittrich, officers from the Tempelgasse police station arrested him in Leopoldstadt early on Holy Saturday evening after learning of his whereabouts.
The 37-year-old had been wanted on the basis of an arrest warrant because of his trafficking activities. There were also suspicions that he had repeatedly abused and injured the 24-year-old and damaged objects. He was also banned from entering and approaching her.
Caught motionlessin the apartment of acquaintances
The arrest was finally made in the apartment of an acquaintance with the help of the Vienna Emergency Response Unit (WEGA) because the 37-year-old was already known for resisting the authorities. However, the police officers found him motionless because he had apparently taken a lot of narcotics. He received emergency medical treatment and was taken to hospital.
