Memorial service for Gaston
Kathrin Glock: Signs of life after a long silence
Entrepreneur Gaston Glock passed away at the end of December at the age of 94, and since then there has been months of silence around his widow Kathrin Glock. On Tuesday, she returned online after a memorial service was held for Gaston on Monday - without his children.
The 43-year-old head of the Glock empire changed her profile picture, which only showed a black area after her husband's death, to a black and white portrait photo of herself. Soon afterwards, the billionaire heiress posted another photo of herself. "Perfection continues," she wrote in English. She will ensure that Gaston's life's work "continues in his spirit", she announced.
1000 guests in Ferlach
A large memorial service for the deceased weapons manufacturer was held in Ferlach in Carinthia on Monday afternoon, as reported by Bild. But not on a small scale: Kathrin Glock had a huge event location built especially for the event on the company premises. Almost 1000 invited guests attended the memorial service.
According to eyewitnesses, the widow gave a moving speech to the employees. She emphasized what she later stated online: that she would continue the company in her husband's spirit.
Children knew nothing about the funeral service
Glock's three biological children were completely unaware of the big funeral service. They were not invited, as son Robert Glock told "Bild": "I have no idea about it. I don't want to know anything more about it either."
